Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Technical Consultant – ThingWorx 10.x / SCPA to configure, develop, integrate, test, and deploy SmartConnect capabilities using PTC ThingWorx 10.x and Smart Connected Product Accelerator (SCPA) .

The role requires strong hands-on implementation expertise across ThingWorx modeling and development, SCPA configuration, enterprise integrations, remote-access workflows, endpoint automation, access governance, testing, deployment, and production support .

The consultant will work within an approved solution architecture and deliver secure, scalable, and supportable solutions aligned with documented acceptance criteria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure SCPA applications, solution building blocks, menus, administration capabilities, asset hierarchies, status displays, and endpoint views .
  • Create and maintain ThingWorx entities including:
  • Things
  • Thing Templates
  • Thing Shapes
  • Data Shapes
  • Services
  • Events
  • Subscriptions
  • Mashups
  • Develop approved extensions, reusable services, UI components, and integration adapters.
  • Implement attended and unattended remote-access workflows for gateways and downstream endpoints.
  • Configure clipboard and file-transfer workflows, including integrity validation.
  • Implement automated file-watch and ingestion workflows with retry mechanisms, duplicate prevention, error handling, alerts, and audit records.
  • Implement endpoint filtering and targeted package execution.
  • Configure endpoint visibility groups, roles, privileges, and least-privilege access.
  • Implement Just-in-Time privileged-access workflows , including approval/denial, timeout, notifications, and audit trails.
  • Develop and support Salesforce/Unity synchronization for endpoint master data.
  • Develop REST APIs, services, transformations, and data mappings for enterprise integrations.
  • Support automated and manual testing including unit, integration, system, security, performance, and UAT.
  • Troubleshoot defects and performance issues.
  • Support releases, deployment, technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer.

Mandatory Skills

  • 5+ years of hands-on ThingWorx development, configuration, implementation, or production-support experience.
  • Practical experience with ThingWorx 9.x or 10.x .
  • Experience with SCPA or comparable ThingWorx solution-building-block frameworks.
  • Strong experience with:

  • Experience with endpoint automation, remote execution, file transfer, or connected-product capabilities.
  • Experience with source control, code reviews, CI/CD, release support, and defect management.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Good to Have

  • ThingWorx Developer or Model Specialist certification.
  • Experience configuring or extending SCPA building blocks and reusable components.
  • Salesforce integration experience.
  • Microsoft Entra ID.
  • SAML / OIDC.
  • PAM / JIT privileged-access workflows.
  • Azure.
  • Monitoring and logging platforms.
  • PostgreSQL optimization.
  • Highly available ThingWorx environments.
  • Experience in:
