Facilities Management at the University of Virginia is seeking candidates for a Custodial Services Supervisor role that supports both the Academic and Health System areas across the University. This is an exciting opportunity for those new to supervisory roles that have experience in commercial custodial work! The Custodial Services Supervisors are responsible for providing clean and healthy environments for the University Academic and Health System facilities by supervising up to approximately 10 - 15 employees in performing safe and critical custodial management tasks. The Supervisor maintains department expectations of providing high quality and consistent service by supervising, scheduling, and training the work force. The Supervisor maintains positive and professional relationships with facility occupants, staff, colleagues, students, visitors, and department leadership. Shift available: 9:00am-5:30pm. The anticipated hiring range is $25.00$28.00, commensurate with experience.$1,500 sign-on bonus for all new hires to the University!
Facilities Management (FM) supports the University of Virginia's wide range of research, academic and patient care programs. With over 1,200 employees dedicated to excellence, Facilities Management is responsible for the day-to-day operation, repair, and maintenance of UVA's buildings, infrastructure, and grounds as well as other University-owned and leased properties.Duties Include:
- Develop and implement custodial work schedules for assigned areas. Maintain written records of work scheduled and completed.
- Supervise members of custodial team and provide them with frequent and constructive feedback.
- Ensure all required custodial projects are completed in a timely, professional manner.
Track purchases and update inventories. - Conduct and submit routine safety inspections.
- Ability to work independently, be proactive with managing workload, and anticipate operational/small-scale projects.
- In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Two years of experience.
- Licensure/Certifications: Valid Drivers License required.
Physical Demands
This role requires regular standing and walking through various indoor and outdoor work areas. Occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, and lifting may be required, including periodic use of cleaning equipment.
