Mainframe Host Network specialist

Required Technical and Professional Expertise: 5 to 7 years of experience in Mainframe Host Network administration and support. Strong experience in z/OS Communications Server, including VTAM, TCP/IP, Enterprise Extender, and SNA administration. Expertise in DNS, IP routing, network security, packet analysis, connectivity diagnostics, and network performance tuning. Experience with problem determination, communications infrastructure support, and enterprise network troubleshooting. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019, VMware ESX, and public/private cloud environments, including on-premises to cloud migrations. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills in production environments. Preferred Technical and Professional Experience: Experience with IBM z/OS Communications Server, VTAM configuration, Enterprise Extender (HPR/IP), and SNA networking. Knowledge of TLS/SSL, encryption, firewall management, and secure network communications. Experience with Wireshark, OSA/Sniffer, NetView, OMEGAMON, and enterprise monitoring tools. Familiarity with OSA-Express, HiperSockets, Parallel Sysplex, and IBM Z networking technologies. Experience in network performance monitoring, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and high-availability architectures. Understanding of ITIL Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes. Experience with automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), vulnerability management, Active Directory, and ADFS. Strong stakeholder management, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
