Job Description

UPES is hiring in the Career Services (Placements) Department for the below roles:

Assistant Manager - Law Placements, Core Engineering Placements Manager - Engineering Placements, Business Placements

Qualification: Post-Graduation is mandatory.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Corporate Relations & Outreach

Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with corporates, industry partners, and employers to enhance campus placements and internship opportunities. Drive employer outreach by identifying prospective recruiters, generating qualified leads, scheduling meetings, and achieving placement targets for assigned academic school, cluster, programs. Convince companies to participate in campus placements, internships, HR summits, and other Career Services initiatives. Build and leverage professional networks while staying updated on industry trends, hiring patterns, job roles, and market intelligence and research to align placement and internship strategies to respective assigned school, cluster and programs.

2. Campus Placement & Career Services Operations

Plan, coordinate, and execute campus placement drives, internship processes and drives careers other Career Services initiatives. Serve as the primary point of contact (POC) for Career Services activities, ensuring seamless communication between internal stakeholders and external recruiters. Manage end-to-end placement and internship processes by coordinating with recruiters, students, faculty, placement coordinators, and student placement teams. Facilitate stakeholder communication through meetings, presentations, emails, calls, and periodic reporting to ensure smooth execution of placement interventions

3. Student Engagement, Counselling & Career Guidance

Provide career counselling and guidance to students on internships, placements, career opportunities, and employer expectations. Develop a strong understanding of academic programs across all schools to effectively align students with suitable internship and placement opportunities. Create awareness among students regarding career opportunities, market trends, industry requirements, and available roles. Support students in enhancing career readiness and employability through continuous guidance and engagement.

4. Stakeholder Collaboration & Relationship Management

Collaborate with schools, Career Services teams, school placement and internship coordinators, EDGE mentors, and student placement (place-com) teams to effectively plan and execute placement and internship activities. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal (school, career services & EDGE) and external stakeholders (recruiters, industry experts and alumni) to ensure a seamless recruitment experience. Understand employer hiring requirements and translate them into effective student engagement and placement and internship strategies. Ensure cross-functional coordination to achieve Career Services objectives within defined timelines.

5. Placement and Internship Excellence & Operational Effectiveness

Demonstrate strong interpersonal, networking, communication, presentation, and relationship management skills while maintaining a proactive, solution-oriented approach. Utilize MS Office tools (Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.) for reporting, data analysis, presentations, and operational management. Stay informed about market trends, hiring opportunities, and industry requirements while supporting Career Services initiatives. Be willing to travel extensively for outreach, work within demanding timelines, and undertake additional responsibilities assigned by the reporting manager.

6. EDGE Training Coordination & Placement Readiness

Collaborate with the EDGE SPOC, mentors, and training team to share hiring pipelines, recruitment calendars, job descriptions, eligibility criteria, and employer expectations, enabling timely and targeted placement readiness initiatives. Facilitate regular interactions between recruiters and the EDGE team, collect structured recruiter feedback, and identify company-specific skill gaps to continuously enhance student employability. Coordinate customized training interventions, including mock interviews, aptitude preparation, technical sessions, group discussions, and soft skills development aligned with recruiter requirements. Monitor training effectiveness through placement outcomes and recruiter feedback, ensuring continuous improvement in student readiness and placement success.

The role is responsible for driving student internships and placement opportunities by building strong corporate partnerships and ensuring effective execution of Career Services initiatives. It requires close collaboration with industry partners, faculty, students, and internal stakeholders to facilitate successful recruitment outcomes. The position demands a proactive, relationship-oriented professional with expertise in business development, stakeholder management, career counselling, placement operations, market intelligence, and student engagement. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication, networking, coordination, and problem-solving skills, along with a strong understanding of industry hiring practices and academic programs.
