About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and ownership-driven Compliance Manager / Senior Compliance Associate to lead and strengthen our compliance, fund operations, and financial reporting processes. This role will work closely with the leadership team and external advisors to ensure seamless regulatory compliance across all fund entities while building scalable internal systems.

Key Responsibilities

Fund Operations & Investor Onboarding

  • Lead end-to-end onboarding of Limited Partners (LPs), including KYC, AML, and documentation processes
  • Oversee fund-level compliance for AIF structures, including investor reporting and capital activity tracking
  • Maintain and strengthen fund documentation, statutory registers, and internal records

Regulatory Compliance & Filings

  • Own and manage all regulatory filings across entities, including Income Tax, GST, TDS, FCRA (if applicable), and other statutory requirements
  • Ensure full compliance with SEBI AIF regulations and related frameworks
  • Track regulatory changes and proactively implement required updates

Financial Reporting & Audit Management

  • Drive year-end audit processes, including preparation of schedules, coordination with auditors, and closure of accounts
  • Oversee financial records, reconciliations, and reporting accuracy across entities
  • Support preparation and validation of financial statements and investor reports

Process Building & Advisory

  • Design and implement robust compliance and operational processes to support fund scale
  • Act as a key interface with legal, tax, and audit advisors
  • Identify risks, resolve compliance gaps, and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Cross-Functional Support

  • Partner with leadership on strategic and operational matters related to compliance and governance
  • Support broader finance, HR, and administrative functions as needed

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Background

  • 4–7 years of experience in compliance, fund operations, or financial reporting—preferably within venture capital, private equity, or financial services
  • Strong familiarity with AIF structures (Category I/II) and regulatory requirements in India

Technical Expertise

  • Deep understanding of Indian accounting standards and statutory regulations (Income Tax, GST, TDS, etc.)
  • Experience managing audits, financial closures, and regulatory filings
  • Proficiency in Tally, Excel, and/or modern accounting/ERP tools

Ownership & Execution

  • Ability to independently manage compliance functions with high accuracy and accountability
  • Strong process orientation with experience building or improving systems

Stakeholder Management

  • Effective communication skills to work with auditors, regulators, consultants, and internal teams
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Location & Availability

  • Based in Mumbai and able to work from our Nariman Point office
  • Immediate joiners preferred

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • NISM-Series-III-C Certification preferred but not mandatory
  • CA / CS / CMA (completed or in progress) preferred but not mandatory
