About the OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for an immediate interim opportunity with the potential to convert to a permanent position. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who can step into a fast-paced environment, take ownership of day-to-day accounting operations, and ensure a smooth transition while supporting ongoing financial reporting and close activities.The ideal candidate has strong month-end close experience, a solid understanding of full-cycle accounting, and prior experience with NetSuite. Experience in a high-volume, business-to-consumer and business-to-business environment is a plus.Job SummaryThe Accounting Manager will oversee daily accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, support timely financial reporting, and ensure the integrity of accounting processes and internal controls. This individual will initially work closely with the existing team to facilitate a smooth transition and maintain continuity across accounting functions.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn and execute the month-end close process, typically completed within 6–7 business days.Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules.Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, check runs, and credit card payments.Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.Prepare financial analyses, including month-over-month, year-over-year, and actual-versus-forecast variance reporting.Assist with cash flow management, forecasting, and annual budgeting.Support ongoing internal audit activities and the annual external audit process.Oversee sales tax filings and payments using Avalara and prepare documentation for external income tax filings.Maintain compliance with GAAP, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.5+ years of progressive accounting experience.Strong hands-on experience managing month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.Experience overseeing full-cycle accounting, including AP and AR.Prior experience with NetSuite strongly preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications; Shopify experience is a plus.Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and quickly integrate into an established business.CPA certification preferred but not required.
