As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a motivated Procurement Specialist with a background in Manufacturing or FMCG to join our procurement team in Djibouti.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 2-5 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing engineering materials, spare parts, industrial equipment and production-related items to support manufacturing operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys supplier management, negotiation and ensuring uninterrupted supply to production and maintenance teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure engineering materials, industrial equipment, spare parts, MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) items and production consumables.
• Identify, evaluate and develop reliable local and international suppliers.
• Obtain quotations, evaluate supplier proposals, negotiate pricing and recommend cost-effective procurement solutions.
• Prepare and process purchase requisitions, purchase orders and procurement documentation.
• Coordinate closely with Engineering, Production, Maintenance, Warehouse and other internal stakeholders to ensure timely procurement.
• Monitor supplier performance with respect to quality, cost and delivery.
• Follow up on purchase orders and resolve supplier-related issues, including delivery delays and quality concerns.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases and documentation.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company procurement policies and procedures.
• Identify opportunities for supplier development, cost reduction, and process improvement.

Mandatory Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• 2-5 years of procurement experience within a Manufacturing or FMCG company.
• Experience purchasing engineering spare parts, industrial equipment, mechanical or electrical components, maintenance materials and production consumables.
• Knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management and purchasing best practices.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to relocate to Djibouti.

Preferred Qualifications

• International procurement and global sourcing.
• ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or similar.
• Vendor development and supplier performance management.
• Import/export procurement activities.
• Procurement within an edible oil, food manufacturing, FMCG, chemical, packaging or industrial manufacturing environment.
