The Outpatient Pharmacist Compliance Packaging supports a high-volume outpatient pharmacy processing approximately 1,300 prescriptions per day. Following training, this hybrid role offers the opportunity to work primarily remotely while providing patient-focused pharmacy services entirely by phone. Caregivers rotate through five key functions over an eight-week cycle, including clinical order review, refill requests, prior authorizations and clinical inquiries, medication therapy management (MTM), and onboarding new patients through medication synchronization.
This is a part-time role. A caregiver in this position will work Monday through Friday, no weekends, no holiday, no call. This will be working 8 hour shifts between 7:00am and 6:00pm. Rotations will occur through 5 different job responsibilities in an 8 week period. Hybrid 1 week onsite, 7 weeks at home. Onsite will be located at CC Administrative Campus located in Beachwood, OH.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Provide pharmacy services and ensure the appropriate selection, dosing, administration and dispensing of medication orders.
- Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered, evidence-based medication services.
- Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.
- Contribute to medication safety initiatives.
- Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
- Ensure all pharmacy operations comply with national accreditation standards.
- Maintain professional interactions with patients to facilitate successful patient experiences.
- Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers, and/or patients.
- Be accountable for drug use policy adherence.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- PharmD or Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy
- Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible in current state within 90 days of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS)Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) andcompletion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course inthe administration of immunizations within 90 days of hire for those administering immunizations
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience preferred.
- Post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or relevant experience preferred for Clinical Pharmacists hired in a Specialized Pharmacy practice area
- Board Certification
Physical Requirements :
- Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Position often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting.
- Must have normal or corrected vision.
- Must have ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person
