Project Manager - III (USD)#26-21598$68.96 per hour New York, NY Onsite Job Description Job Details: Job Title: Director, Global Events Location: New York, NY (Hybrid - onsite every 2 weeks for one day; local candidates only) Duration: 10+ Months Type: Full-Time, Contract Travel: Willing to travel domestically for occasional events - expenses covered Description: A global financial services company is seeking an experienced, creative, and self-motivated Events Director to join the Marketing team for a 10-month maternity leave coverage. In this role, you will manage and lead tactical and logistical planning and execution of assigned events including regional meetings, symposiums, product launch events, industry and partner conferences, tradeshows, and client meetings. You will own event marketing timelines, manage external vendors and internal/external partners, report on tradeshow and event ROI, manage the Company Store premium item experience, build event pages and registrations, and strategize with the Global Events Management team to improve in-person and virtual events. Top 5-7 Skills: Event planning and execution - 7-10 years (financial services industry preferred) Strong project management and organizational skills Budget management and negotiation with external vendors Strategic mindset with ability to set goals and elevate event portfolio Data-driven leadership - defining success metrics and refining customer experience Collaboration with internal/external stakeholders and senior management Event technology (registration systems, virtual platforms like Zoom, ON24, Teams) Requirements for the role: 7-10 years of experience in event planning and execution, preferably in the financial services industry Dynamic experience in negotiations with external trade and marketing vendors Exquisite organizational skills and polished written/verbal communication skills Experience collaborating with internal and external resources to develop and contribute to strategic initiatives within budget and timelines Strong project management skills with a knack for optimizing departmental processes A strategic mindset with the ability to set goals and a vision to elevate the event portfolio Data-driven leadership experience, focusing on defining success metrics and continually refining the customer experience strategy Proven ability to unite and motivate a diverse team of stakeholders, vendors, and colleagues Demonstrated critical thinking skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Familiarity with attendee management registration systems, apps, and event technology Quick communication response time to colleagues and clients Incredible attention to detail with strong project management skills and ability to see the big picture Ability to maintain an optimistic, approachable, and self-starter attitude - solutions driven Strong sense of client orientation, internal or external, with a passion for hospitality Seeks continuous mastery of new technical and business knowledge Willing to learn and be part of a fast-paced, team environment Strong budgeting experience Proven skills interacting with executive/senior management teams Willingness to travel approximately 20% and work non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, occasional international travel) Self-motivated and proactive with confidence to make sound decisions and take initiative with minimal supervision Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, Business, or a related field (preferred)7-10 years of relevant event planning and execution experience Or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training Mindlance is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate in employment on the basis of Minority/Gender/Disability/Religion/LGBTQI/Age/Veterans.
