We are looking for an experienced and passionate Career Counsellor who understands the complete U.S. college admissions process and can successfully guide students from profile building to final university enrollment.
Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable Career Counsellor with expertise in U.S. undergraduate and graduate admissions. The ideal candidate should have experience advising students on university selection, application strategy, personal statements, essays, extracurricular planning, scholarships, and visa guidance.
The candidate should be capable of mentoring students throughout the entire admission journey while ensuring high-quality applications and exceptional student satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Counsel students and parents regarding U.S. college and university admissions.
- Assess students' academic profiles and recommend suitable universities.
- Guide students on:
- University selection
- Course selection
- Career pathways
- Application timelines
- Assist students with:
- Common App
- Coalition Application
- University-specific portals
- Review and edit:
- Personal Statements
- Statement of Purpose (SOP)
- College Essays
- Supplemental Essays
- Letters of Recommendation (LOR) guidance
- Resume/CV for admissions
- Help students develop strong extracurricular profiles.
- Guide students regarding:
- SAT/ACT (preferred knowledge)
- TOEFL/IELTS/Duolingo requirements
- Provide scholarship and financial aid guidance.
- Track application deadlines and ensure timely submissions.
- Prepare students for university interviews.
- Assist with admission offers, acceptance procedures, and enrollment.
- Provide basic guidance regarding the U.S. student visa (F-1) process.
- Maintain regular communication with students and parents.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and follow-up schedules.
- Conduct webinars, seminars, and counseling sessions.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of the U.S. higher education system.
- Complete understanding of the U.S. admissions process.
- Excellent essay editing and proofreading skills.
- Experience with Common App and university application portals.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to counsel students and parents professionally.
- Excellent English writing and grammar.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to meet application deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree.
- 2-5+ years of experience in U.S. admissions counseling.
- Experience working with education consultancies or overseas education firms.
- Knowledge of scholarships and financial aid.
- Familiarity with Ivy League, Top 100 U.S. Universities, Liberal Arts Colleges, and Community Colleges.
- Experience handling undergraduate and graduate admissions.
