JOB DESCRIPTION


Position Title: Senior Executive


Department: Food & Beverage Service


Sub Department: Coffee Mastery Bar (Reporting to Coffee Master – Head Roaster)


Position Overview

The Senior Executive – Coffee Mastery Bar at StoneX Design District is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Coffee Mastery Bar while ensuring exceptional guest experiences, world-class beverage quality, and operational excellence. This role supports the Coffee Master (Head Roaster) in implementing the coffee program, maintaining quality standards, supervising Executives, managing inventory, and ensuring consistency across all coffee experiences. The Senior Executive acts as the operational leader of the Coffee Mastery Bar in the absence of the Coffee Master, ensuring every guest interaction reflects the luxury hospitality philosophy of StoneX Design District.


Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Service Excellence

  • Supervise daily Coffee Mastery Bar operations to ensure seamless and personalized guest experiences.
  • Welcome and engage guests with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality.
  • Recommend specialty coffees, brewing methods, tasting flights, and coffee pairings based on guest preferences.
  • Ensure every coffee experience reflects the luxury hospitality standards of StoneX Design District.
  • Handle guest feedback, complaints, and service recovery professionally while maintaining guest satisfaction.
  • Recognize VIP, HNI, and UHNI guests and coordinate personalized coffee experiences whenever required.
  • Support the Coffee Master in creating immersive coffee journeys through education, storytelling, and sensory engagement.

Coffee Preparation & Beverage Excellence

  • Supervise preparation of espresso-based beverages, manual brews, cold brews, signature beverages, and specialty coffee offerings.
  • Ensure all brewing follows approved recipes, extraction standards, grinder calibrations, and presentation guidelines established by the Coffee Master.
  • Monitor beverage consistency, flavour, aroma, texture, temperature, and presentation.
  • Conduct routine quality checks throughout service.
  • Ensure proper use of premium coffee equipment and brewing tools.

Coffee Operations & Quality Management

  • Support the Coffee Master in implementing daily operational plans and coffee standards.
  • Monitor grinder calibration, brewing parameters, and equipment performance throughout service.
  • Conduct routine cupping sessions and quality evaluations as directed by the Coffee Master.
  • Ensure SOPs, hygiene standards, and operational procedures are consistently followed.
  • Assist in introducing seasonal beverages and new coffee offerings.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise and guide Executives – Coffee Mastery Bar in daily operations.
  • Conduct on-the-job coaching in brewing techniques, espresso preparation, manual brewing, latte art, guest engagement, and service etiquette.
  • Allocate daily responsibilities and monitor task completion.
  • Assist the Coffee Master in preparing staff schedules and operational planning.
  • Monitor team grooming, discipline, and adherence to company standards.
  • Encourage teamwork, continuous learning, and operational excellence.

Inventory & Equipment Management

  • Oversee inventory of roasted coffee beans, milk, syrups, brewing accessories, and operational supplies.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate procurement requirements with approved suppliers.
  • Ensure proper storage, freshness, and rotation of roasted coffee.
  • Supervise cleaning and preventive maintenance of espresso machines, grinders, brewers, filtration systems, and specialty coffee equipment.
  • Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs when required.
  • Conduct regular inventory verification and minimize operational wastage.

Coffee Knowledge & Product Excellence

  • Maintain strong knowledge of coffee origins, processing methods, roast profiles, brewing science, and flavour characteristics.
  • Stay updated with new coffee arrivals, seasonal offerings, signature blends, and industry trends.
  • Educate guests on coffee appreciation, brewing methods, and tasting notes.
  • Promote premium coffee experiences and responsibly upsell specialty beverages.
  • Support the Coffee Master in developing coffee menus and seasonal beverage recommendations.

Operations & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate operational records including inventory, coffee consumption, equipment maintenance, and guest preferences.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental SOPs, hygiene standards, food safety requirements, and operational procedures.
  • Assist in preparing daily operational reports, inventory reports, and sales summaries.
  • Coordinate with Culinary, Purchasing, Events, Stewarding, Engineering, and Front Office teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Support planning and execution of coffee masterclasses, tasting events, workshops, and promotional activities.

Quality Assurance

  • Maintain uncompromising standards of coffee quality, authenticity, and luxury hospitality.
  • Conduct routine inspections of beverage quality, station readiness, cleanliness, and equipment condition.
  • Ensure consistency in brewing, presentation, and guest experience across every shift.
  • Monitor hygiene, food safety, and operational compliance within the Coffee Mastery Bar.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance guest satisfaction and operational performance.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Food & Beverage Service, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in specialty coffee, luxury cafés, premium hotels, or fine dining establishments, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of espresso preparation, manual brewing methods, extraction principles, coffee equipment, and specialty coffee service.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and guest engagement skills.
  • Good organizational, inventory management, and operational planning abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and perform efficiently in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • SCA Barista Skills (Intermediate or Professional) Certification.
  • SCA Brewing Certification.
  • SCA Sensory Skills Certification.
  • Experience working with commercial espresso machines and specialty brewing equipment.
  • Knowledge of coffee roasting principles and sensory evaluation.
  • Experience in luxury hospitality or premium specialty coffee concepts.
