Syracuse, NY | Full-Time | Director or Vice President Level
Annual Base Salary:
Director: $108,500–$135,000
Vice President: $130,500–$163,000
Sapphire Recruitment is partnering with an established nonprofit organization in Syracuse to recruit an experienced fundraising leader for its charitable foundation.
The organization is open to hiring at either the Director or Vice President level, depending on the candidate's experience, leadership capabilities, and fundraising success.
This highly visible role combines strategic fundraising, donor relationship development, community engagement, and hands-on leadership. The ideal candidate enjoys building relationships, making direct fundraising appeals, speaking publicly, and creating opportunities to expand philanthropic support.
What You'll Do:
Develop and implement fundraising strategies to grow charitable contributions.
Build relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, and community partners.
Personally solicit major gifts, sponsorships, and other financial support.
Represent the foundation at community events, meetings, and presentations.
Lead fundraising events, sponsorship campaigns, and donor engagement activities.
Collaborate with executive leadership and the foundation board on fundraising goals and priorities.
Oversee foundation operations, budgets, donor records, and reporting.
Supervise one team member and collaborate with marketing and communications staff.
What We're Looking For:
5+ years of nonprofit fundraising, development, or foundation experience, including 3+ years of leadership responsibility.
Demonstrated success securing charitable contributions and achieving fundraising goals.
Experience developing donor relationships, corporate sponsorships, and fundraising events.
Strong public speaking, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on fundraising activities.
Experience working with executive leadership, boards, and community organizations.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and substantial relevant experience.
Healthcare industry experience preferred.
Some local travel and occasional evening or weekend availability are required.
