ResponsibilitiesPerform gross examination and dissection of surgical pathology specimensPrepare and process tissue specimens for microscopic examinationAccurately describe and document specimen findingsAssist pathologists with specimen handling and case preparationCollaborate with pathologists, laboratory staff, and clinical teamsMaintain accurate records and specimen documentationEnsure compliance with laboratory policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
RequirementsNew York State licensure as a Pathologist Assistant requiredBachelor’s or higher degree from a Pathologists’ Assistant program required, or an equivalent program as determined by the NYS Education Department, or a bachelor’s xzbcwsv or higher degree from a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program0-3 years of related pathology experience required
