Job SummaryWe are looking for a Bench Jeweler to join our manufacturing team. You will be the hands behind the finish of each piece, building, repairing, setting and polishing fine jewelry in gold, platinum and silver so that it leaves the bench ready for the case. This is a role for a craftsperson who takes pride in clean work, understands the standards of fine jewelry, and enjoys being part of a close-knit team that makes things in the U.S.
This role is onsite 5 days a week in our NYC office.
What You Will DoBuild, repair, resize and restore fine jewelry in gold, platinum and silverSolder, laser weld, file and polish each piece to a flawless finishSet stones and inspect prongs, bezels and settings to make sure every stone is secureCheck your work at every stage and raise quality concerns earlyHit production and turnaround targets, and keep accurate records of work in progressSafeguard precious metals and stones through careful tracking and secure handlingKeep your bench, tools and equipment in top condition, and follow all safety practicesWhat You Bring2 to 5 years of bench experience in fine jewelryStrong skills in soldering, sizing, retipping and finishingWorking knowledge of stone setting (basic required; advanced a plus)Hands-on experience with laser welding and ultrasonic and steam cleaningA sharp eye for detail and pride in clean, precise workmanshipDependability, with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamTrade school or equivalent training (preferred)Nice to HaveManufacturing or wholesale experienceFamiliarity with CAD or wax carvingComfort with higher-volume production work
Hourly RangeThe hourly rate for this role is $24, reflecting a good faith estimate of starting base pay.
