Job Description
<p>As an every level Buyer for Bunzl Distribution, you will be responsible for
strategically restocking our New England regional warehouses. You will execute a
queue of purchasing activity which may be oriented by category, market, region,
vendor or customer. In this critical position, you will align, modify, and
perform the procurement process from demand through final disposition and is
often the primary representative of Bunzl to suppliers. You will have the
opportunity to work with both Domestic and Import vendors and will leverage our
AS400 & Blue Yonder systems for inventory tracking
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
* Monitor inventory levels/inventory control among multiple warehouses and
ensure maximum efficiency of warehouse space.
* Communicate with global manufacturers and suppliers regarding orders,
inventory and delivery timelines.
</p><ul><li>Support supply through product selection, development, and sourcing.</li><li>Monitor pricing, terms and KPIs with manufacturers and suppliers.</li><li>Be a strong team member with peers and other key internal stakeholders,</li></ul>
including purchasing, operations, warehouse, finance and sales.
* Deliver the on the KPI/metrics and objectives, ensuring that all actions are
in sync with plan defined by local leadership. Metrics may include, but are
<b>not limited to:</b>
<ul><li>Buyer productivity – volume, value, turns, and overstock.</li><li>Adherence to category management guidelines or demand plans that ensure</li></ul>
preferred vendor relationships and products are core to every buying
decision.
<ul><li>Inventory balance granular to ordering characteristics and aged profile.</li><li>Maintain vender relationships including service level and On Time and In</li></ul>
Full (OTIF).
<ul><li>Identification and capture of opportunities for one-time PBIT improvements.</li><li>Negotiate will all levels of supplier contacts including key challenges in</li></ul>
price, availability, lead time, and freight.
* Open to learning, coachable, and willing to volunteer to test new approaches.
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>High School diploma or GED equivalent required.</li><li>Bachelor's degree preferred.</li><li>Experience in AS400 a plus</li><li>Analytical skills with the ability to use Microsoft Excel to drive decisions</li></ul>
and communicate key performance trends.
<ul><li>Understand the basics of negotiations and can pursue a predefined result.</li><li>Ability to respond to multiple needs and priorities through open,</li></ul>
professional communication.
* Experience with e-mail such as Outlook and other Microsoft Office products
(e.g. Word, PowerPoint).

* Bunzl salary range for this role is $58,000-$61,000 based on education,
experience & geographic location.
