Airbotics Talent are partnered with a global technology company developing robots, drones and advanced autonomous platforms.
We are looking for a Senior Robotics Integration Engineer to take hands on ownership of integrating advanced sensing, compute, communications and software technologies into robotic platforms.
This is not a management position. You will work directly with hardware and software, bringing systems together, debugging integration issues, validating performance and ensuring complete robotic platforms operate reliably in real world environments.
The ideal person will likely sit at the intersection of electrical/electronics engineering and software, someone who understands power, communications, sensors and embedded hardware, while being comfortable working with software engineers and debugging integrated robotic systems. This is an opportunity to join a newly established robotics business within a major global technology organisation and work directly with advanced technology being integrated into real world autonomous systems.
The Role
You will take hands-on responsibility for the integration, bring up and validation of technologies across AMRs, ground robotics, drones and other autonomous platforms.
This includes:Integrating sensors, compute, communications hardware and payloads into robotic and autonomous platformsBringing together electrical/electronic hardware, embedded systems and software into complete working systemsIntegrating cameras, radar, LiDAR, GNSS, IMUs and other sensing technologiesSupporting electrical integration including power systems, interfaces, connectivity and digital communicationsPerforming system bring-up, checkout, debugging and root-cause analysis across hardware and softwareWorking with embedded systems, networking, telemetry and real-time software environmentsDeveloping and executing system level testing and validationSupporting prototypes, proof-of-concepts, customer demonstrations and field testingWorking closely with AI/ML, perception, software, electrical, systems and validation engineersInterfacing with customers, technology partners and robotics OEM engineering teams
You will act as the technical bridge between individual technologies and the complete robotic system, ensuring sensors, compute, communications and software work together reliably on the physical platform.
The Person
This role is suited to a practical engineer who enjoys being close to the hardware, solving difficult system level problems and making complex robotic technologies work together.
You are likely to have:8+ years of engineering experience within robotics, autonomous systems, drones, embedded systems or another complex hardware/software environmentA background in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science or a related disciplineStrong hands-on experience integrating hardware and software into physical productsGood understanding of electrical/electronic systems, power, sensing, compute and digital communicationsExperience integrating sensors or payloads such as cameras, radar, LiDAR, GNSS or IMUsStrong system bring-up, debugging, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilityUnderstanding of embedded systems, networking and real-time software constraintsExperience working with Linux based and/or embedded software environmentsThe ability to work effectively across electrical, software, systems and perception engineeringExperience taking integrated systems into demonstrations, field testing or customer environments

ROS/ROS 2, wireless communications, telemetry, heterogeneous compute platforms, SIL/HIL testing or AI/ML-enabled perception experience would also be advantageous.
This role is unlikely to be a fit if:You are looking for a people management or primarily strategic leadership positionYour recent experience has moved away from hands on engineering and system integrationYour background is primarily mechanical engineeringYour experience is predominantly software without meaningful exposure to physical hardware and electronics
The position is based in Carmel, Indiana and requires regular hands-on access to the company's engineering facilities. Relocation support is available for the right candidate, with occasional travel for customer demonstrations and field testing.
