Our client is a growing consumer products company that designs, develops, and sources innovative products for major retail customers across North America. They are seeking a Product Development Manager to take ownership of new product initiatives from concept through commercialization while working closely with overseas manufacturing partners, engineering teams, sourcing, quality, and sales.
This is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on product development professional who enjoys being deeply involved in execution, supplier collaboration, and bringing products to market rather than simply managing timelines.
What You'll DoLead new product development projects from ideation through launch and commercializationPartner directly with overseas manufacturers and suppliers to drive product development, solve production challenges, and ensure successful executionDevelop product briefs, business cases, roadmaps, and commercialization plansCollaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Supply Chain, Sourcing, Quality, Manufacturing, and Sales teamsManage multiple product initiatives simultaneously while maintaining timelines and quality standardsSupport product reviews, testing, supplier communication, and ongoing product improvementsProvide guidance and mentorship to junior product development team members
What We're Looking For Required Qualifications3-5 years of product management or product development experienceExperience leading products from concept through commercialization and market launchHands-on international product development experience, including direct collaboration with overseas factories and manufacturing partnersStrong project management and cross-functional leadership skillsAbility to thrive in a collaborative, mid-sized company environment where product managers are heavily involved in executionWillingness to work onsite approximately four days per week to support team collaboration and product development activitiesPreferred QualificationsExperience mentoring xzbcwsv or leading junior team membersFormal people management experienceExperience working within consumer products, durable goods, industrial products, tools, storage, garage organization, home improvement, or related categories
