Job Description
Purpose:
The Lead of Security Automation is responsible for planning, implementing, integrating, and managing security technology solutions across Suzlon’s manufacturing plants, wind farms, substations, warehouses, offices, and critical infrastructure to improve security effectiveness, operational efficiency, and risk visibility. Role would be a critical enabler of the transformation from a manpower-intensive security model to a technology-led, intelligence-driven security program across more than 100 geographically dispersed sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop Security Automation Strategy
- Define the long-term roadmap for security technology deployment across all Suzlon locations.
- Align automation initiatives with business risks, operational requirements, and security standards.
Establish Security Technology Standards
- Develop and maintain Minimum Essential Security Technology Standards (MEST) for all site categories.
- Standardize CCTV, access control, alarm systems, PIDS, drones, and command centre architecture.
Manage CCTV Ecosystem
- Oversee deployment, maintenance, and optimization of CCTV systems across sites.
- Ensure adequate coverage of critical assets, stores, substations, and turbine yards.
Access Control Management
- Implement and govern biometric, smart card, visitor management, and turnstile systems.
- Ensure controlled access to sensitive operational areas.
Perimeter Security Automation
- Deploy and manage PIDS, fencing sensors, boom barriers, gates, and intrusion detection technologies.
- Monitor perimeter breach alerts and response mechanisms.
Video Analytics Deployment
- Introduce AI-based analytics for intrusion detection, loitering, object removal, PPE compliance, and vehicle monitoring.
- Reduce dependence on manual monitoring.
Security Command Centre Integration
- Establish centralized monitoring capabilities for high-risk assets and regions.
- Integrate multiple security systems onto a common operating platform.
Drone Security Program
- Manage drone-based surveillance for remote wind farms and critical infrastructure.
- Develop drone operating procedures and vendor management.
Technology Risk Assessments
- Conduct site security technology gap assessments.
- Recommend automation solutions based on risk profiles.
Vendor and OEM Management
- Evaluate security technology providers.
- Manage performance, SLAs, procurement, and technology upgrades.
Cyber-Physical Security Coordination
- Work closely with IT and OT teams to secure security networks and devices.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity requirements.
Project Management
- Lead end-to-end security technology projects, including budgeting, implementation, testing, and commissioning.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Technology Budgeting
- Develop annual CAPEX and OPEX plans for security automation initiatives.
- Track return on investment and cost optimization.
Analytics and Dashboards
- Develop security dashboards for management reporting.
- Monitor health, uptime, incidents, and performance of deployed systems.
Incident Investigation Support
- Utilize video evidence, analytics, and digital systems to support investigations.
- Improve recovery and prosecution outcomes.
Preventive Maintenance Governance
- Ensure periodic health checks and preventive maintenance of all security systems.
- Maintain system availability and reliability.
Business Continuity and Redundancy
- Ensure backup power, network redundancy, and disaster recovery measures for critical security infrastructure.
Technology Training and Capability Building
- Train security personnel on operation and effective utilization of automated systems.
- Build a technology-oriented security culture.
Innovation and Emerging Technologies
- Evaluate AI, machine learning, autonomous surveillance, robotics, and next-generation security solutions.
- Pilot innovative technologies for future deployment.
Governance and Compliance
- Ensure all automation deployments comply with Suzlon policies, legal requirements, and security standards.
- Conduct periodic audits and technology assurance reviews.

- CCTV uptime above 98%.
- Reduction in theft and security incidents.
