Manufacturing Engineer

AtumX is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to lead and optimize our manufacturing operations, including process planning, SOP development, supply chain coordination, and assembly line improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Process Planning

• Plan and design the manufacturing process from raw materials to finished products
• Define production workflows, equipment requirements, and resource allocation
• Implement lean manufacturing principles and identify optimization opportunities

SOP Creation & Documentation

• Create, review, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for all manufacturing processes
• Ensure documentation meets safety and quality compliance standards

Supply Chain Management

• Manage supplier relationships and coordinate material procurement
• Plan inventory levels and resolve supply chain bottlenecks
• Monitor supplier performance and incoming material quality

Assembly Line Optimization

• Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements to increase productivity
• Conduct time studies to reduce cycle time and improve OEE

Quality & Safety Management

• Ensure processes meet quality and safety standards
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

• Track key manufacturing metrics and report on performance and KPIs

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline
• 2–5 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing operations or process engineering
• Experience with SOP creation, lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma methodologies
• Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills
• Based in Chennai or willing to relocate

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in automotive, electronics, or production-heavy manufacturing environments
• Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing software
• Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or a related field
