Role Overview

We are looking for a proficient Revenue Accountant to play a pivotal role within our Revenue Accounting Support function. With 5 to 10 years of core revenue accounting experience-specifically centered around ASC 606 (US GAAP) standards-this individual will provide end-to-end support across revenue recognition, month-end close processes, contract accounting, deal assessments, provisioning, credit notes, and maintaining zero unreconciled balances.

Key Responsibilities & Scope

1. ASC 606 & Commercial Support

- Apply ASC 606 US GAAP principles to manage end-to-end revenue accounting processes and compliance.

- Provide accounting support to commercial operations teams for New Product Introductions (NPI), SKU setup, and Standalone Selling Price (SSP) proposals in accordance with ASC 606 rules.

- Review non-standard deal terms and commercial contracts to determine accurate revenue recognition treatments prior to execution.

- Evaluate commercial pricing structures (subscriptions, consumption-based plans, tiered pricing, and bundles) for ASC 606 compliance.

2. Financial Close & Reconciliations Support

- Drive revenue accounting support for quarter-end (Q/E) backlog, Remaining Performance Obligation (RPO) accounting, and month-end revenue close activities.

- Perform detailed analysis and reconciliations for accrued revenue, deferred revenue, intercompany transactions, balance confirmations, and variance analysis.

- Support revenue cut-off control reviews to ensure revenue is recognized in the correct accounting period with zero unreconciled balances.

3. Operational Control, Audit & Reporting Support

- Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for revenue accounting in line with ASC 606, ensuring strict adherence to internal control frameworks and SOX controls.

- Deliver key reconciliation support, process improvement initiatives, and MIS reporting.

- Provide comprehensive support for statutory audits, internal audits, due diligence, and financial close activities.

Technical & Core Requirements

- Functional Expertise: Revenue Recognition (ASC 606 US GAAP), Contract Accounting, Financial Reporting, MIS Reporting, Provisioning & Accruals, Deferred Revenue Reconciliations, Intercompany Reconciliations.

- ERP: SAP S/4HANA (or equivalent ERP with RAR/FICO exposure).

- Education & Background: CA or Inter CA with 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in high-volume revenue operations.
