We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Laravel Developer with 8–10 years of professional software development experience and deep specialization in the Laravel/PHP ecosystem . The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong hands‑on engineering capabilities along with the ability to make architecture‑level decisions for complex, scalable, and distributed systems.

Laravel & Backend Engineering

• Expert‑level knowledge of the Laravel framework and modern PHP development.
• Strong understanding of Laravel internals, including Service Container, Service Providers, Middleware, Queues, Events/Listeners, Jobs, Eloquent ORM, Policies, Commands, Scheduling, Caching, and Dependency Injection .
• Ability to design and implement clean, maintainable, reusable, testable, and production‑grade code .
• Strong command of professional engineering principles, including SOLID, DRY, KISS, separation of concerns, clean architecture, and appropriate design patterns .
• Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs and microservices with clear service boundaries and well‑defined contracts.
• Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, API security, validation, rate limiting, caching, concurrency, and transaction management .

Architecture & System Design

As a senior‑level engineer, the candidate is expected to think beyond feature implementation and contribute significantly to high‑level and low‑level system design .

• Design scalable, highly available, fault‑tolerant, and maintainable backend architectures .
• Apply design‑for‑failure principles , including graceful degradation, retries, timeouts, circuit breakers, idempotency, fault isolation, and recovery strategies where appropriate.
• Identify architectural bottlenecks and provide optimized solutions for high‑volume and performance‑critical systems.
• Make informed trade‑offs between performance, scalability, consistency, reliability, complexity, and maintainability .
• Design solutions that support long‑term product growth rather than introducing unnecessary technical debt.
• Participate in architectural reviews and provide technical direction to other engineers.

Algorithms, Performance & Problem Solving

• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills , with the ability to break complex engineering problems into efficient and maintainable solutions.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and Big O time and space complexity .
• Ability to evaluate implementation choices based on computational complexity and expected production workloads.
• Strong experience with application profiling, query optimization, caching strategies, memory utilization, asynchronous processing, and performance tuning .
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex production issues, performance bottlenecks, race conditions, and distributed‑system failures.

MongoDB & Microservices

Our microservices architecture relies heavily on MongoDB , so strong practical MongoDB expertise is required.

• Strong hands‑on experience with MongoDB in production environments .
• Excellent understanding of document modeling, schema design, indexing strategies, aggregation pipelines, query optimization, replication, and transactions .
• Ability to design MongoDB data models according to application access patterns, scalability requirements, and performance considerations .
• Experience identifying and resolving slow queries, inefficient indexes, and database‑level performance bottlenecks.
• Strong understanding of MongoDB usage within distributed and microservices‑based architectures .
• Ability to make informed decisions around data consistency, service ownership, denormalization, data duplication, and inter‑service communication .

Senior‑Level Engineering Expectations

The candidate should demonstrate the maturity expected from an engineer with 8–10 years of experience , including:

• Ownership of solutions from requirements and architecture through implementation, deployment, monitoring, and production support .
• Ability to independently evaluate technical requirements and propose robust architectural solutions.
• Strong code review and engineering standards , with the ability to identify architectural, security, performance, scalability, and maintainability concerns.
• Ability to mentor developers and establish coding standards, development best practices, and architectural guidelines across the team.
• Strong understanding of automated testing, unit/integration testing, CI/CD, observability, logging, monitoring, and production debugging .
• Ability to proactively identify technical risks and design systems that remain reliable under failure, increased traffic, and changing business requirements .

The successful candidate should not only be an expert Laravel developer, but a senior backend engineer and technical problem solver capable of designing and delivering reliable, optimized, scalable, and production‑grade systems.
