About us
Giant Screening is a UK-headquartered workforce compliance business operating iCHEX, a background screening platform that we are transforming into a full employee lifecycle compliance system. iCHEX serves enterprise clients across the UK and internationally, with a growing footprint and an ambitious international expansion plan underway.
The platform ambition is significant. We are moving from one-off screening checks to always-on compliance that employers and workers rely on throughout employment. That means ongoing monitoring, rechecks, a persistent Worker Record, and far more automation and self-service than screening has traditionally offered.
iCHEX is a multi-tenant platform. Giant Screening is its largest tenant, alongside a growing number of other organisations using iCHEX for their own screening. Growing that tenant base is central to our strategy.
Giant Screening is part of Giant Group and benefits from group-level expertise in areas including security, infrastructure and AI development.
The impact of your role
As Head of Product, you will turn the CEO's product vision into products that work, and help shape where that vision goes next. You will report directly to the CEO and own the roadmap, product delivery, and the design of every client, candidate and operations experience on iCHEX.
We move fast, and we expect agreed, visible impact from your first month. AI will sit at the centre of how iCHEX works and how Product works, so you will need to understand it, use it and build with it.
You will work with Engineering as a genuine peer. Product owns the customer problem, the priorities, and the what and why. Engineering owns architecture, technical feasibility, delivery, quality and the how. Where priorities need to be balanced, the CEO gives the final steer.
Great product work here starts with the people who know the work best. Our operations, compliance, customer success, implementation and engineering teams hold deep expertise.
You will draw that knowledge out early, combine it with your own fresh thinking and with what our tenants need, and turn it into products that are simple to use and work first time. iCHEX serves many tenants, and you will design for all of them, not just the largest.
Giant Screening's product function is independent, but you'll be part of a wider Giant Group product community. The Group Head of Product and colleagues across the Group are a peer network and sounding board for ideas, standards and support.
Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Contribute actively to the product vision set by the CEO, and own the roadmap that turns it into shipped product.
- Take ownership of Flex, our top priority. Flex is an extension of Enterprise that lets clients do screening work themselves through a much simpler experience. It is in early development, and you will shape it, complete it and launch it.
- Bring simplicity to Enterprise. Over time it has become excellent but complex. Make it easier to use and configure without losing the capability clients rely on.
- Lead the product thinking behind Worker Record, ongoing monitoring and rechecks as iCHEX moves from one-off screening to always-on workforce compliance.
- Put AI at the centre of the product and of how Product works, designing every AI feature for the moment it is wrong.
- Design one platform for every tenant and every route to market. iCHEX is a single-instance platform: build capability once and make it configurable, rather than building for one client's way of working.
- Involve subject matter experts early, from problem definition through requirements and design, so that final acceptance confirms rather than discovers.
- Build structured ways for tenants to shape product decisions, through usage data, feedback and occasional user research.
- Own UX and design, requirement quality, acceptance criteria and product sign-off, with data protection, permissions and auditability built in from the start.
- Lead and develop the Product team, raising standards and helping people grow.
- Measure outcomes, not output (adoption, manual effort removed, tenant and customer value) and report clearly to the CEO.
Your ideal experience & competencies
Ideally, you will be an exceptional B2B SaaS product leader who has done what we are now trying to do. You do not need screening experience. We have deep expertise across the business; what matters is that you draw on it.
Must have
- 7+ years in SaaS product management, with at least 3 years leading product teams, including developing people and raising standards.
- Experience of operationally heavy B2B products that handle sensitive data and serve multiple clients with different needs, built using modern product practice: discovery, evidence-led prioritisation and outcome measurement. You treat data protection, permissions and audit as product responsibilities.
- Has simplified and extended a mature, complex platform, including bringing existing capability to a new type of user or route to market through a simpler experience, with measurable outcomes.
- Hands-on AI capability. You use AI in your own work every day, understand what it can and cannot reliably do, and have shipped AI or automation features that work in production.
- Genuine collaboration. Evidence of using subject matter expert input to shape better products, working with engineering as a peer, and building trust across operations, engineering and customer-facing teams.
- Clear, simple communication. You can explain complex decisions in plain language and give a straight answer.
Strong advantages
- Experience turning manual or service-heavy processes into automated, self-service products.
- Has taken a new product or proposition from concept to live clients.
- A strong UX and design sense.
- A track record of making visible, agreed impact quickly.
- Continuous monitoring or subscription-style compliance products.
- API-first products and ATS/HRIS integrations.
- International expansion or products serving multiple regulatory regimes.
