Mongodb database administrator

We are looking for an experienced Mongo DB database administrator to own the design, performance, security, and reliability of our Mongo DB estate. This role requires deep hands-on expertise across replica sets, sharded clusters, backup/restore, and performance tuning, with the judgment to make architectural decisions independently and troubleshoot production issues under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

Administer, monitor, and maintain Mongo DB environments across development, staging, and production Design and manage Replica Set and Sharded Cluster architectures for high availability and horizontal scalability Own backup and restore strategy and execution, ensuring recoverability meets business RPO/RTO requirements Plan and execute database patching, version upgrades, and migrations with minimal downtime Manage and optimize deployments using Mongo DB Ops Manager Perform performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning across the Mongo DB fleet Write and troubleshoot Mongo Query Language (MQL) for diagnostics and optimization Administer underlying Unix/Linux infrastructure supporting Mongo DB workloads Work within Agile delivery teams, participating in sprints, planning, and incident retrospectives Support automation initiatives using tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, or Terraform Script routine operational tasks using Bash or Python Provide input and support on other database platforms as needed
