Role Description

The Concrete Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based out of Italy, TX, responsible for overseeing concrete construction activities from planning through completion. This position manages daily field operations, including supervising crews, coordinating formwork, flatwork, and ready-mix concrete placement, and ensuring work is performed safely and according to specifications. The Concrete Superintendent reviews drawings and project documents, schedules labor and equipment, and collaborates with project managers, general contractors, and inspectors to keep projects on time and within budget. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring quality, resolving field issues, conducting safety meetings, and maintaining accurate documentation of progress and materials. The role requires hands-on leadership, frequent site presence, and proactive communication to deliver consistent, high-quality concrete work.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with concrete formwork and related carpentry skills for industrial or commercial projects.
• Proficiency in managing flatwork operations, including slabs, paving, and finishing techniques.
• Knowledge of ready-mix concrete materials, placement methods, curing practices, and quality control standards.
• Experience working with and coordinating heavy equipment used in concrete construction (e.g., pumps, loaders, excavators).
• Proven field supervision experience, including leading crews, assigning tasks, and mentoring craft workers.
• Strong understanding of construction safety regulations and the ability to enforce safety protocols and conduct toolbox talks.
• Ability to read and interpret structural and civil drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with project managers, contractors, inspectors, and suppliers.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities on site.
• Prior experience as a Concrete Superintendent or similar role in industrial or heavy civil construction; relevant trade or technical education is a plus.
