About Lerner Tower 3 Cardiothoracic Acute Care Step Down Unit
Lerner Tower 3 is a 30 bed adult telemetry unit serving primarily postop cardiac and thoracic surgery patients. Six of the 30 beds can provide care for medical or surgical stepdown unit care. Learn more about the unit\: Cardiothoracic Surgery Step Down Unit (Lerner Tower 3)

What You Will Do
The ANM position provides comprehensive care to patients, while being a leader on the unit. They build a strong foundation of leadership skills and promote the values of University Hospitals. Our ANMs work 50% in staffing and 50% in leadership.
- Routinely provide patient care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
- Maintains employee records.
- Identifies needs for and provides Staff education/staff development.
- Participates in Discharge planning, community resource referrals, and education.
- Committee involvement, participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Oversees daily operations of unit/area in a cost-effective manner.
- Involved in Community outreach activities as pertinent Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients/customers and co-workers.
- Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment.
- Displays commitment to the mission and values of the organization.

- Meets qualification of 1-2 years clinical experience
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills both written and verbal, as well as, exhibiting strong organizational skills and work ethic.
- Demonstrates a professional demeanor when responding to patients/customers.
- Demonstrated ability to handle high pressure situations with professionalism and integrity.
- Knowledge of current technology and equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies
- PC and computer applications
- Certification in a specialty clinical area or leadership is required within 2 years of hire date
- BLS Required and ALS & PALS may be required based on areas requirements

Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge\:
Education\:
Associate in Science Degree in Nursing (ADN) required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master in Nursing (MN) from accredited program required within 2 years of hire date.
Required Credentials, License, and/or Certifications\:
Registered Nurse with current license to practice in the state of Ohio.
