Peskind Law Firm is seeking an experienced Senior Family Law Paralegal / Case Manager to join our team in a key case-management and trial-support role.
We are looking for someone with significant experience managing active litigation matters, preparing complex cases for trial, and working closely with attorneys to ensure that deadlines, documents, discovery, exhibits, and case details are organized and under control.The right person is highly organized, proactive, calm under pressure, and comfortable taking ownership. You should be someone who can look at a case, understand what needs to happen next, and help move it forward without waiting to be directed at every step.
What You’ll DoManage and help coordinate active family law matters from intake through resolutionWork closely with attorneys on complex and high-conflict casesCoordinate deadlines, court dates, discovery, depositions, hearings, and trial preparationMaintain organized, complete, and current case filesSupport in preparing cases for trial, including exhibits, witness materials, pleadings, discovery, financial records, and supporting documentationReview files proactively to identify outstanding items, upcoming deadlines, and next stepsAssist attorneys with discovery management and organization of large volumes of financial and case-related documentsCommunicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, experts, and other partiesHelp ensure attorneys are fully prepared for hearings, depositions, and trialsCoordinate across attorneys, paralegals, and administrative team members when matters require support from multiple peopleBring structure and consistency to case-management and trial-preparation processes
What We’re Looking ForSignificant paralegal or legal case-management experienceStrong preference for substantial Illinois family law experienceDeep experience supporting litigation and preparing cases for trialDemonstrated ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneouslyExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailStrong understanding of deadlines, court filings, discovery, and litigation workflowAbility to anticipate what an attorney or case will need rather than waiting for instructionsProfessional judgment and discretion when working with sensitive client mattersReliable follow-through and a high level of personal accountability
