Commercial Kitchen Equipment Installation Technician
Job Type: Direct Hire
Pay: $25-$32/hour (Dependent on Experience)
Job Summary
Commercial Kitchen Equipment Installation Technician role will primarily be responsible for installing, assembling, connecting, testing, and commissioning commercial conveyor dishwashing systems such as the American Dish ADC-44 conveyor ware washing machine, including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical connections.
Responsibilities
- Install commercial ware washing, conveyor dishwashing, and kitchen equipment at customer sites.
- Read and interpret equipment specifications, blueprints, shop drawings, installation manuals, and wiring diagrams.
- Assemble and position equipment according to manufacturer requirements.
- Connect and verify electrical power, grounding, plumbing, drainage, and utility services.
- Install and align conveyor systems, tables, racks, pumps, motors, and related components.
- Verify correct operation of wash pumps, rinse systems, heaters, conveyors, and safety devices.
- Perform startup, commissioning, and operational testing of installed equipment.
- Troubleshoot installation issues and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper performance.
- Inspect completed installations for quality, safety, and code compliance.
- Train customer personnel in equipment operation and basic maintenance procedures.
- Complete installation reports, service documentation, and punch lists accurately.
- Coordinate with contractors, facility managers, and customer representatives during installations.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in safe working order.
- Follow OSHA, electrical, plumbing, and workplace safety requirements at all times.
- Provide limited warranty and service support as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on workload and department needs
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of experience installing commercial kitchen, food service, ware washing, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, or similar equipment.
- Ability to read technical drawings, installation manuals, and electrical schematics.
- Working knowledge of:
- Electrical systems (single-phase and three-phase power)
- Plumbing and water supply connections
- Drainage systems
- Mechanical assembly and equipment alignment
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with commercial dishwashers, conveyor systems, or foodservice equipment.
- Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical trade certification.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience working in restaurants, healthcare facilities, schools, hospitality, or institutional kitchens.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and move equipment and materials up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to push, pull, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Comfortable using ladders and working around electrical and plumbing systems.
- Ability to travel and work extended hours when required by project schedules.

Work Environment
- Customer facilities including restaurants, schools, hospitals, correctional facilities, hotels, institutional kitchens and commercial job sites.
- Exposure to construction environments, water, electrical systems, cleaning chemicals, and mechanical equipment.
- Frequent local travel required.

- Ensure all installations meet manufacturer specifications and safety requirements.
- Accurately document work completed and report issues promptly.
