Job Description
Description:Our client headquartered in Virginia is seeking a Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer based in Huntsville, AL. The position reports to the Engineering Manager and offers growth opportunities in a hybrid workplace with two remote days. The GNC Engineer will perform end-to-end kinematic and dynamic simulations on Autopilot Control Systems utilizing linear systems theory.

The ideal candidate has physics domain knowledge and algorithmic development of 6-DoF motion models and Autopilot Control Systems. Possesses proven analytical, written & verbal communication skills and able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment as part of a multi-discipline team.
Duties/Responsibilities:Develop & analyze autopilot and control algorithms and contribute to high-fidelity simulation developmentBuild autopilot and control laws for dynamic systemsPerform target state estimation, filtering and sensor fusionDevelop & maintain kinematic simulations and models to support system design & verificationInterface with various external & internal stakeholders including systems, software and test engineering teamsSupport Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and system-level testing
Requirements:Skilled in designing autopilot and control algorithmsExperience with state estimation techniques, including Kalman filtering or multi-sensor fusionProficiency in MATLAB, Python, C++, Simulink or other high-level programming languageMust be willing to travel domestically and internationally (up to 10%)Familiarity with missile, UAV or aerospace vehicle systems a plusExperience with real-time embedded flight control software, sensor dynamic modeling and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) & Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test automation a plus
Qualifications:5+ Years of Controls Engineering or Guidance, Navigation and Control experience2+ Years of 6-DoF (Six Degrees of Freedom) Simulation and Guidance AlgorithmsBachelor’s xzbcwsv degree from accredited four-year College or University in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master’s or PhD a plus)Must be US Citizen and eligible to obtain US DoD Secret Clearance (active clearance a plus)
