Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Construction Project Manager with strong technical knowledge of building systems, building products, and project execution workflows. This role serves as the primary customer partner throughout the project lifecycle, owning project scope and key milestones in collaboration with the customer and internal teams from order entry through production and delivery. This role also serves as the critical technical link between construction field requirements and internal operations, ensuring that complex project milestones are met while providing a premium service experience to the customer.
The Construction Project Manager applies technical expertise to understand overall project scope, identify potential gaps or risks, manage RFIs and scope changes, and ensure accurate execution against customer requirements. This role supports pre- and post-production customer needs while maintaining accountability for documentation, change management, schedule adherence, and complete financial reconciliation to deliver a high-quality, reliable customer experience.
Essential Duties:
- Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to understand overall project scope, system requirements, and milestone expectations from order through completion, applying technical knowledge to ensure alignment and accuracy.
- Own and manage customer project milestones while proactively identifying and communicating scope creep, assessing impacts to schedule, cost, materials, and production, and aligning next steps with the customer to maintain delivery commitments.
- Review customer drawings and project documentation to identify RFIs, scope clarifications, and technical discrepancies, facilitating timely resolution with customers and internal teams.
- Execute and manage change orders resulting from scope changes, RFIs, or customer-directed updates, ensuring accurate documentation, pricing, and approval.
- Organize, coordinate, and lead cross-functional execution between drafting, engineering, purchasing, finance and manufacturing teams to support customer scope, technical requirements, and installation schedules.
- Create and manage order entries for IMP projects, ensuring all material quantities, specifications, and approved scope changes are accurately captured for procurement and production, while maintaining strict compliance with established quality, safety, contractual, and regulatory standards.
- Review and interpret shop drawings and submittals to confirm material requirements, constructability, and alignment with agreed scope.
- Track project progress from order entry through delivery, proactively identifying risks, delays, or constraints that may impact agreed-upon milestones.
- Maintain complete and accurate project documentation, including schedules, RFIs, change orders, communications, and deliverables, using ERP and project management systems.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding project status, production progress, scope changes, delivery scheduling, and milestone updates.
- Collaborate with procurement to support sourcing and scheduling phases of insulated metal panels and related materials in alignment with approved scope and timelines.
- Ensure timely preparation and accuracy of job files, shipping documentation, and closeout materials for customer delivery and handoff.
- Complete invoice and financial reconciliations to ensure billing accuracy and alignment with customer-approved scope, change orders, and project deliverables.
- Analyze project costs, material usage, and scope changes to support project efficiency, cost control, and overall project performance.
- Lead internal coordination meetings and conduct recurring customer virtual project updates, ensuring transparent communication, technical clarity, defined deliverables, and documented action items.
- Proactively address production, supply chain, or shipping issues to minimize disruption to customer schedules and contractual commitments.
- Learn and support customer-specific workflows, reporting requirements, and platforms, including portals, reporting tools, and milestone tracking systems.
- Demonstrate effective communication, accountability, collaboration, and ethical decision-making in a positive, professional manner that reinforces technical competence and supports successful project outcomes
- Conduct customer site visits as necessary to assess site status, review drawings and page turns, and validate scope, sequencing, and field conditions that may impact production, delivery, or project milestones.
- Contribute to a culture of excellence by mentoring peers and promoting standardized project management best practices that support consistent, high quality execution.
- Support team wide performance improvements through the application of proven methodologies and standardized workflows.
Education/Experience:
- Degree in Business, Project Management, Construction Management, or Engineering, or relevant degree.
- PMP certification required
- 5-7+ years' experience in Customer Service, order management or within a general or specialty contractor
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects under tight deadlines in a very fast-paced environment.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and follow-up skills
- Verifiable leadership experience and capabilities, with past successful project execution
- Working knowledge of necessary industry-related tools
- Proven ability to generate and deliver reports that provide useful insight into project details.

- Shows strong judgment in balancing customer expectations, internal constraints, and project realities.

- Notices inconsistencies, risks, and missing information that others may overlook.
- Values accuracy and completeness because small details can affect cost, timing, quality, and customer trust.

- Communicates with confidence while remaining respectful of different perspectives and pressures.
