Job Description

About the Role

The ideal candidate will be responsible for understanding customer technical requirements, proposing appropriate solutions, conducting product/system demonstrations and working closely with the sales team to convert opportunities into business. The candidate must be comfortable interacting with engineering teams, technical decision-makers, R&D teams, government organizations, and defense/aerospace customers, while also possessing commercial and sales acumen.

Responsibilities

  • Understand customer requirements and translate them into appropriate technical solutions.
  • Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers.
  • Work closely with the sales team to identify opportunities and develop technically suitable solutions.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, Proof of Concepts (PoCs), and application evaluations at customer sites.
  • Support customers in system selection, configuration and provide solutions.
  • Develop technical proposals, solution architectures, system configurations, and budgetary quotations.
  • Perform initial system/application studies based on customer requirements.
  • Analyze customer problems and provide effective technical solutions within defined timelines.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering, product, and sales teams to resolve customer technical issues.
  • Visit customer sites regularly for technical discussions and demonstrations.
  • Support the sales team during customer meetings, negotiations, technical clarifications, and tender discussions.
  • Study and identify relevant online tenders/RFQs from targeted aerospace, defense, government, and PSU organizations.
  • Review tender technical requirements and support preparation of technical compliance statements and bid documentation.
  • Prepare and deliver technical documentation, presentations, application notes, and solution proposals.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and identify opportunities for upgrades, additional solutions, and new applications.
  • Support submission of technical/commercial documents, including bank guarantees, bills, compliance documents, and other project-related documentation, as required.
  • Support marketing activities such as technical seminars, workshops, exhibitions, webinars, and customer events.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant technologies, products, competitors, and emerging applications in the aerospace and defense industry.

Qualifications

  • BE/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a closely related discipline – Mandatory.
  • 2–6 years of relevant experience in Field Application Engineering, Technical Sales, Application Engineering, Pre-Sales Engineering, or techno-commercial roles.
  • Candidates with strong hands-on technical experience combined with customer-facing/sales experience are preferred.
  • Experience working with aerospace, defense, electronics, embedded systems, test & measurement, or government customers will be an advantage.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of electronics, electrical systems, instrumentation, and test & measurement concepts.
  • Ability to understand technical specifications, datasheets, system architectures, and customer requirements.
  • Knowledge of test and measurement equipment, instrumentation, data acquisition, signal measurement, or electronic systems.
  • Exposure to National Instruments (NI) platforms, LabVIEW, PXI/PXIe, DAQ, or similar platforms will be highly desirable.
  • Basic understanding of aerospace/defense technologies, communication standards, interfaces, and protocols.
  • Knowledge of interfaces/protocols such as Ethernet, CAN, RS-232/422/485, ARINC, MIL-STD-1553, or similar will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to perform basic system-level troubleshooting and technical analysis.
  • Proficiency in MS Office – Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to prepare technical presentations, proposals, reports, and customer documentation.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience handling customers across the South India region.
  • Experience with aerospace and defense organizations, government departments, PSUs, or R&D establishments.
  • Experience in technical tender evaluation and preparation of technical bids.
  • Exposure to RF, communication systems, embedded systems, avionics, or electronic test systems.
  • Experience with NI platforms or other automated test and measurement systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to independently manage customer technical requirements from initial enquiry through solution proposal, implementation, and post-sales support.

Pay range and compensation package

BE/B.Tech in Electrical / ECE / Electronics (or closely related engineering discipline) is mandatory. Candidates with a strong technical foundation and 2–6 years of techno-sales, application engineering, pre-sales, or field engineering experience will be preferred.
