PE license preferred, not required.Candidate must have knowledge in the following:Fluid Dynamics: Understanding head loss, discharge coefficients, and the orifice equation to manage water pressure and flow.Structural Mechanics: Knowing how steel, reinforced concrete, and composite panels handle extreme hydrostatic loads.Mechanical Actuation: Designing or selecting lifting systems, including screw stems, gears, and hydraulic or electric actuators.Industry Standards: Applying guidelines like AWWA C501 for water/wastewater control gates or U.S. Bureau of Reclamation manuals.
