We’re Hiring: Release Manager (Workday Transformation)

We are looking for an experienced Release Manager to drive a massive, multi-year global HR transformation for a leading multinational enterprise.

In this critical, full-time role, you will manage two parallel and interdependent workstreams: navigating Workday’s biannual product releases (R1/R2) while simultaneously driving multi-country wave deployments. You will act as the ultimate gatekeeper for release governance, ensuring a single, stable global system version across all tenants.

Location: Mumbai

Key Responsibilities:

• Dual-Track Release Strategy: Plan and sequence Workday R1/R2 feature adoption cycles alongside global go-live waves, preventing timeline conflicts.
• Workday Release Management: Lead the full lifecycle for biannual updates, including preview evaluation, configuration impact analysis, and formal opt-in/opt-out governance.
• Environment & Tenant Management: Maintain version alignment and manage promotion sequencing across all tenants (Sandbox → Implementation → Production).
• Quality & Regression: Own the end-to-end regression test suite (Core HR, Payroll, Talent, Integrations) ensuring zero disruption to live configurations.
• Governance & Cutover: Lead Change Advisory Boards (CAB), Go/No-Go forums, and oversee cutover execution, data migration, and deployment command centers.

What You Bring:

• Experience: 10+ years in release management or enterprise IT transformation, with a proven track record in large-scale, multi-country Workday HCM implementations.
• Workday Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience managing Workday’s R1/R2 update cycles, including Known Issues, feature activation, and backwards compatibility.
• Technical Acumen: Strong familiarity with Workday tenant architecture, integration frameworks (Studio, EIB, Core Connectors), and payroll-integrated system releases.
• Leadership: Exceptional ability to manage cross-functional dependencies, structure risk mitigation plans, and translate technical impacts to global business stakeholders.
