The OpportunityWe are partnering with a highly reputable Industrial General Contractor to recruit an experienced Construction Project Manager to join their growing team in Itasca, Illinois.This is an excellent opportunity to join an established contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex industrial construction projects, with a particular focus on cold storage and temperature-controlled facilities.
The successful candidate will take ownership of projects from preconstruction through to completion, working closely with clients, subcontractors, consultants and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and within budget.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage industrial construction projects from preconstruction and planning through to final handover.Oversee the delivery of cold storage, refrigerated warehouse and temperature-controlled facilities.Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, procurement strategies and cost controls.Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and site teams to ensure smooth project delivery.Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and implement effective solutions.Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, building codes, quality standards and project specifications.Maintain strong client relationships and provide regular project updates.Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, contract documentation and project reporting.Work collaboratively with site superintendents and project stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.
Candidate RequirementsProven experience as a Construction Project Manager within industrial, commercial or related construction.Direct cold storage, refrigerated warehouse or temperature-controlled facility experience is strongly preferred; relevant related experience is essential.Experience managing construction projects from inception through to completion.Strong knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor management and cost control.Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver projects to demanding schedules.A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline is advantageous, or equivalent practical experience.
