As a Software Engineer on the Banking team at OnePay, your work will have a direct impact on how people access, move, and manage their money, driving everything from the design of scalable banking services to the reliability of real-time money movement that help our customers trust us with their finances. Lead technical design and delivery of banking features that scale with our growing customer base and support a seamless mobile experience
Set architectural standards and best practices for code quality, performance, security, and reliability across our banking services
Own the technical approach to complex challenges at scale, including sensitive financial data and real-time money movement
Partner closely with product, design, risk, and compliance to shape the roadmap and turn it into high-quality, shipped software
Create and maintain clear documentation, a must-have for a growing, remote organization

7+ years of professional experience in backend or full-stack software engineering, including technical leadership of projects or teams
~ Proven success designing, building, and scaling production-grade APIs and distributed systems, ideally in banking, payments, or other regulated financial services
~ Experience with sensitive financial data and money movement systems, such as ledgers, account management, ACH, or card processing
~ Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript or similar modern backend frameworks, and familiarity with microservices, Kubernetes, and AWS
~ Experience with mobile or user-facing applications, ideally React Native, is a plus
~ We use Typescript front to back, with node and NestJS frameworks for server code and React Native for our iOS, Android, and Web clients. We run on a highly distributed cloud-native stack with Kubernetes and AWS, and scale and resiliency are at the heart of everything we build. While you dont need experience with our exact stack, familiarity with modern software engineering practices will help you ramp up quickly.
