Tax & Accounting Manager ($125K-$150K | Remote | 2080 Hours) (Hialeah)

Salary range : $125,000–$150,000 base salary per year, depending on experience and qualifications Workplace type : This is a fully remote position with a hybrid option. All applicants must live within a commutable distance of Panama City, FL or Jacksonville, FL to be considered. What you will be doing: Managing tax and accounting engagements from assignment through completion, including client communication, staff assignments, budgets, and deadlines Preparing and reviewing complex individual, corporate, partnership, trust, nonprofit, and tangible personal property tax returns Overseeing client accounting work, including account reconciliations, adjusting journal entries, general ledger review, and financial statement preparation Preparing and reviewing tax planning projections and identifying planning opportunities for individuals and business owners Reviewing staff work for accuracy, completeness, and supporting documentation, and providing clear, actionable feedback Supervising, training, and developing team members while managing workloads and keeping engagements moving forward Conducting tax research and documenting findings, conclusions, and recommendations Managing responses to IRS and state agency audits, inquiries, and tax notices Serving as a primary client contact and explaining tax and accounting matters clearly Assisting with business development, including prospective client meetings, fee quotes, proposals, and evaluating service needs Working with firm leadership to improve processes, engagement profitability, and client service Managing consulting and special projects as requested by management and clients What qualifications we are looking for: 7+ years of progressive experience working for a CPA firm, including at least 2 years supervising staff and reviewing work Licensed CPA or EA certification (preferred) Extensive knowledge of individual, corporate, and partnership taxation, including multistate returns Strong accounting skills, including reviewing financial statements, reconciliations, and adjusting journal entries Demonstrated ability to independently manage client relationships, engagements, budgets, and deadlines Experience training staff, providing constructive feedback, and following through on performance expectations Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to take ownership, exercise sound judgment, and recognize when an issue needs additional input Experience with UltraTax (required), QuickBooks Online (required), Workpapers CS (preferred), Planner CS (preferred), and Karbon (preferred) What we offer: TCS is a family-friendly CPA firm offering career growth and development opportunities, competitive compensation, participation in our 401(k) plan, paid time off, and a flexible remote or hybrid work environment.
