b Overview /b p As Principal Mechanical Engineer in Stantecs Water team, you will lead mechanical design across major water and wastewater projects, from feasibility to commissioning. You’ll mentor engineers, drive technical excellence, and manage client relationships to deliver high-quality, sustainable solutions. You will work within a collaborative, growth-oriented culture that values leadership and cross-disciplinary delivery. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li competitive salary /li li bonus schemes /li li enhanced pension /li li private medical insurance /li li group income protection life assurance /li li annual leave with buy/sell option /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Lead mechanical design across water and wastewater treatment works, pumping stations, and related infrastructure /li li Deliver projects from feasibility through detailed design, construction support and commissioning /li li Produce and review technical calculations, specifications, and engineering documentation /li li Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, sustainable designs /li li Mentor engineers and support capability development /li li Collaborate with clients, PMs, contractors, and supply chain partners to achieve successful outcomes /li li Support framework delivery, continuous improvement and business development /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng/IEng) /li li Strong experience delivering detailed mechanical design within the UK water sector /li li Experience leading technical delivery on multidisciplinary projects /li li Excellent understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes and associated systems /li li Experience mentoring and developing engineers /li li Strong client-facing, communication and stakeholder management skills /li li Experience working with contractors and delivery partners /li /ul ul li client-facing /li li communication /li li stakeholder management /li li detailed mechanical design for water/wastewater infrastructure /li li technical leadership across multidisciplinary projects /li li knowledge of pumping stations and treatment processes /li /ul
