Maintenance Technician I - Streets

The City of Roanoke is seeking crew members to work on the Streets crew in the Transportation division of Public Works. This role p erforms skilled work operating heavy motorized equipment in support of roadway maintenance, repair, and construction activities. Operates equipment such as asphalt distributors, dump trucks, backhoes, heavy front end loaders, motor graders, and a variety of hand and power tools to complete assigned projects. Performs maintenance and repairs to streets, alleys, road shoulders, medians, curbs, and sidewalks. Conducts routine equipment inspections, services equipment, and performs minor repairs and adjustments to ensure safe and efficient operation. May work independently or lead a street maintenance crew in the absence of the supervisor, coordinating daily work
