OPERATIONS MANAGER - FMCG (Operational Excellence & Governance)

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Production Management, Food Technology, or a related discipline.
• MBA / PGDM in Operations, Quality Management, General Management, Business Administration, or Project Management will be highly preferred.

Required Experience:

• 6-12 years of experience leading Operational Excellence, People Management, Process Governance, Quality Management Systems, Multi-department Operations, and Organizational Performance Management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Hyderabad Head Office across all business functions.
• Ensure smooth coordination between Merchant Trading, FMCG Consolidation, and Contract Manufacturing verticals.
• Monitor execution of operational activities across Procurement, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Sales, Finance, HR, and Administration.
• Drive operational discipline, accountability, and process compliance across departments.
• Track departmental KPIs, productivity, pending tasks, and operational deliverables.
• Conduct regular operational reviews and follow up on action items.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
• Establish and maintain SOPs, workflows, checklists, templates, and operational documentation.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, quality standards, and operational procedures.
• Coordinate with contract manufacturers and business partners for smooth operational execution.
• Monitor warehouse operations, inventory movement, dispatch planning, and operational efficiency.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Drive process improvements, standardization, and automation initiatives
• Support employee onboarding, operational orientation, and process training activities.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure timely execution of business commitments.
• Monitor operational risks and escalate critical issues with recommended solutions.
• Prepare operational MIS reports, dashboards, performance trackers, and management updates.
• Support business expansion initiatives by establishing scalable operational processes.
• Conduct internal operational audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
• Ensure effective communication and coordination between Hyderabad operations and international business teams.
• Maintain high standards of operational efficiency, governance, and continuous improvement across the organization.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong understanding of Business Operations, Operational Strategy, and Organizational Excellence.
• In-depth knowledge of FMCG operations, Merchant Trading (OR) Contract Manufacturing (OR) Private Label Manufacturing (OR) Distribution business models.
• Expertise in Quality Management Systems (QMS), Operational Governance, and Business Process Management.
• Strong knowledge of SOP development, process mapping, workflow standardization, and documentation control.
• Understanding of Supply Chain Operations, Procurement Coordination, Warehouse Management, Inventory Control, and Order Fulfilment.
• Knowledge of Manufacturing Operations, Vendor Management, Production Coordination, and Cross-functional Business Operations.
• Ability to design and monitor KPIs, SLAs, Operational Dashboards, MIS Reports, and Performance Scorecards.
• Strong analytical ability to evaluate productivity, operational efficiency, cost optimization, and resource utilization.
• Experience in Business Process Re-engineering, Continuous Improvement, Lean Operations, and Operational Excellence initiatives.
• Knowledge of ERP systems, Microsoft Excel (Advanced), PowerPoint, Word, and business reporting tools.
• Understanding of food safety standards, import-export operations, statutory compliance, and FMCG operational regulations.
• Ability to manage multi-department operations, business priorities, operational risks, and organizational change initiatives.
• Exposure to ISO Standards, Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar continuous improvement methodologies will be a strong advantage.
