A large, publicly traded global manufacturer with operations across dozens of countries is seeking a Technical Accounting Manager to serve as the company’s go-to expert on complex accounting matters. The role covers research, policy, new standard adoption, and the full accounting workstream for M&A.It’s a strong fit for a Big 4-trained CPA who wants to be the trusted advisor in the room when deals and new contracts are being shaped, not after the fact.
What You’ll Do:Serve as the subject matter expert on technical accounting under US GAAP and IFRSResearch and document accounting positions for new and complex transactions, writing formal memos and guidance for the organizationPartner with business development, legal, and finance teams early in deals and new contracts so the accounting is built in from the startLead the accounting workstream on M&A transactions, from due diligence through post-close integrationAssess quality of earnings, key financial drivers, and balance sheet exposures during diligence to inform deal negotiationsPrepare opening balance sheets and business combination memos, and manage valuation and other external advisorsLead adoption of new accounting standards end to end, from impact assessment through global implementationMonitor emerging FASB and IASB guidance and assess impacts on financial statements, policies, and systemsSupport system changes needed to comply with new standardsWork with external auditors to close complex accounting matters on timeUpdate finance policies and deliver training to finance and business teams
What We’re Looking For:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s a plusCPA required8–12 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting and external reporting, with a strong SEC reporting focusSignificant public accounting experience, Big 4 preferredExpert xzbcwsv knowledge of US GAAP and solid working knowledge of IFRSM&A accounting experience, including purchase accounting and business combinationsExperience leading large reporting projects; ESG or sustainability disclosure experience a plusExcellent written and verbal communication skills
