Software Engineer (Backend) | Tempe, AZ

100% Onsite | Up to $140,000 Base + 10% Bonus

A rapidly growing technology-driven organization is seeking a Software Engineer (Backend) to join their engineering team in Tempe, AZ. This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale, customer-facing applications while helping drive the design and development of modern cloud-native platforms.

This role offers a fast-moving environment, strong technical ownership, and the chance to contribute to the architecture and delivery of highly scalable backend systems supporting a nationwide business.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, develop, and deploy highly scalable cloud-native microservices
• Build and enhance REST APIs and distributed backend services
• Develop solutions using AWS cloud technologies, serverless architectures, and containerized environments
• Partner with architects and engineering leaders on system design, platform modernization, and technical strategy
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps best practices
• Evaluate emerging technologies and participate in proof-of-concept initiatives
• Collaborate across engineering teams to develop reusable components and drive technical excellence

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years of software engineering experience building scalable web applications and APIs
• Strong backend development experience with Node.js and TypeScript
• Expertise designing and building microservices architectures
• Experience with AWS, including cloud-native and serverless technologies
• Strong experience with MongoDB, SQL, and NoSQL databases
• Experience with CI/CD tools, containers, Docker, and modern development practices
• Strong understanding of Agile software development methodologies

Nice to Have

• React or React Native experience
• GraphQL experience
• Salesforce platform exposure
• Kubernetes experience
