Position: CAD Engineer – Piston Design

Location: Bangalore

Experience: 3 to 8 Years

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CAD Engineer with experience in Piston Design and strong proficiency in PTC Creo . The ideal candidate should have a background in the Automotive Industry , preferably in powertrain or engine components, and be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing piston components while ensuring compliance with quality, performance, and manufacturing requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and modify 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings of piston components using PTC Creo .
  • Design and develop pistons, piston rings, and related engine components as per customer and project requirements.
  • Perform design calculations, tolerance stack-up analysis, and GD&T implementation.
  • Coordinate with CAE, manufacturing, quality, and testing teams during product development.
  • Support new product development and engineering change management activities.
  • Ensure designs comply with automotive standards, customer specifications, and manufacturing feasibility.
  • Participate in DFMEA, design reviews, and technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare technical documentation including drawings, BOMs, and engineering change requests.
  • Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing teams for prototype and production support.

Required Skills

  • Strong experience in PTC Creo (3D Modeling & Drafting) .
  • Experience in Piston Design and engine component development.
  • Good understanding of GD&T, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing .
  • Knowledge of automotive product development processes.
  • Experience with engineering drawings, BOM management, and change control processes.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes such as casting, machining, and forging.
  • Familiarity with DFMEA, APQP, and quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in automotive powertrain, engine, or piston manufacturing industry.
  • Exposure to PLM tools such as Windchill will be an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
