WR Engineering is working with an industrial automation business seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer to develop, commission and improve control systems for manufacturing applications.

This position would suit an engineer with strong PLC programming skills who enjoys taking projects from initial design through to installation and commissioning.

The Role

• Develop and modify PLC programs for automated machinery and production systems.
• Design and configure HMI and SCADA applications.
• Commission equipment and troubleshoot electrical, controls and communication faults.
• Integrate drives, instrumentation, sensors and industrial networks.
• Produce technical documentation and support customers through testing and handover.

Requirements

• Previous controls or automation engineering experience within manufacturing, machinery or systems integration.
• Strong PLC programming experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell or Siemens.
• Experience with HMI/SCADA platforms such as FactoryTalk, Ignition or WinCC.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and diagnose faults independently.
• Electrical, automation or mechatronics qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
• Robotics, motion control or machine vision experience would be advantageous.
