Role Summary

We are seeking an execution-oriented Chartered Accountant (CA) with 1–4 years of post-qualification experience in food processing, FMCG, or industrial discrete/process manufacturing.

This hybrid commercial and plant accounting role oversees end-to-end operational bookkeeping, inventory costing, multi-entity ledger reconciliations, and statutory compliance (GST/TDS) across both AGT Foods India (corporate trading & commercial supply chains) and Umami Agro Industries (greenfield factory setup, pre-commissioning, and plant operations) . The candidate will execute ground-level bookkeeping in Microsoft Dynamics AX / D365 and Advanced Excel.

Role Clarification:

● Current Operational Scope:

○ Hands-on transactional accounting and operational legwork across corporate and plant divisions.

○ Daily execution of 3-way matching (PO vs. GRN vs. Invoice), vendor scrutiny, voucher entries, and physical inventory reconciliations.

○ Setting up the Chart of Accounts, cost centres, project CAPEX ledgers, and trial balances for the new manufacturing facility.

○ Not an Advisory Role: Currently this is not a corporate statutory audit review, management consulting, investment banking, private equity valuation (DCF/NAV), or M&A desk profile. Future possibilities of including these responsibilities.

● Future Strategic Evolution:

○ As the Khopoli plant transitions from setup to commercial scale, this role will evolve into commercial and financial leadership.

○ Responsibilities will expand into plant-level MIS, OPEX/CAPEX variance management, supply chain working capital strategy, corporate direct/indirect tax planning, and liaison with statutory audit partners and lenders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Core Bookkeeping, Multi-Entity AP/AR & Ledger Maintenance

● Establish, align, and maintain the Chart of Accounts, cost centres, and voucher postings across AGT Foods India and Umami Agro Industries.

● Perform daily 3-way matching: verify Purchase Orders (PO), weighbridge / Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), and vendor tax invoices prior to booking.

● Manage end-to-end Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), process scheduled vendor payment runs, and resolve supplier ledger disputes.

● Perform monthly bank reconciliations (BRS), inter-company trade/fund balance reconciliations, and general ledger scrutiny.

2. Factory Project CAPEX, Manufacturing Costing & Inventory Accounting

● Track raw grain intake, packaging materials, Work-in-Progress (WIP), finished stock, scrap, and process shrinkage/yield variances.

● Audit and record project CAPEX cash outflows, civil contractor milestone billings, machinery import documents, customs clearance costs, and fixed asset capitalization schedules.

● Conduct monthly and quarterly physical stock counts at the Isambe, Raigad factory site and regional storage warehouses; reconcile physical inventory with ERP balances.

3. Direct & Indirect Statutory Compliance

● Prepare, reconcile, and file statutory returns: GST (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9) and TDS/TCS (24Q, 26Q)[cite: 6, 7].

● Ensure compliance with Reverse Charge Mechanisms (RCM), E-Way bill generation, and input tax credit (ITC) matching (GSTR-2B vs. books of accounts).

● Prepare audit workpapers and coordinate with statutory and tax auditors for financial year-end finalization under Schedule III of the Companies Act[cite: 6, 7].

4. ERP Operations & Advanced Financial Modelling

● Oversee day-to-day transaction entries, journal balancing, master data hygiene, and batch runs within Microsoft Dynamics AX / D365 .

● Build dynamic, formula-driven financial models in Advanced Excel (XLOOKUP, Pivot tables, Index-Match, dynamic arrays) for plant cash-flow tracking, daily trade position reporting, and raw material procurement costing.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

● Professional Qualification: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) registered with ICAI, 1–4 years of post-qualification experience

● Industry Background: Mandatory operational accounting background in Food Processing, Agro-Commodities, FMCG, or Process/Discrete Manufacturing .

● Greenfield / Setup Exposure: Prior experience participating in the accounting setup, Chart of Accounts formation, or pre-commissioning bookkeeping of a new plant, factory project, or subsidiary is strongly preferred.

● ERP Experience: Operational working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX (DAX) or Dynamics 365 (Finance & Operations) is preferred; candidates with hands-on manufacturing experience in SAP (FICO) or similar enterprise ERPs will be considered.

● Technical Skills: High-level mastery of Advanced MS Excel for financial data cleanup and management reporting.

● Work Location & Mobility: Based primarily at the Bhandup, Mumbai corporate office, with flexibility for travel to the Umami Agro Industries factory site in Isambe, Raigad for physical inventory counts, asset audits, and operational accounting reviews.
