Role Description: The Medical Doctor, Second Opinion Physician is a remote role responsible for delivering high-quality, clinically sound second opinions for patients navigating complex diagnoses and treatment options. In this role, the physician will review medical records, diagnostic results, and prior treatment plans, synthesize findings, and provide clear, evidence-based guidance aligned with current clinical standards. Day-to-day work includes collaborating within the Continuia ClinIQ network, using AI-supported tools and structured workflows to ensure peer-aligned reviews, and documenting second opinions in a concise and patient-friendly manner. The physician will ensure that all consultations adhere to relevant regional regulations, ethical standards, and consent protocols, while maintaining accurate records for audit and governance purposes. This role may also involve contributing feedback to improve AI-assisted workflows and participating in cross-border clinical discussions to enhance the overall quality of care.
Qualifications
- Valid medical degree (MD, DO, MBBS or equivalent) and completion of residency in a recognized clinical specialty relevant to second opinion work (e.g., internal medicine, oncology, cardiology, neurology).
- Current, unrestricted medical license in at least one jurisdiction, with board certification or equivalent professional recognition strongly preferred.
- Experience providing consultative care or second opinions, including expert review of complex cases, differential diagnoses, and treatment planning.
- Strong clinical reasoning, evidence-based decision-making skills, and familiarity with international clinical guidelines and standards of care.
- Comfort working with digital health platforms, electronic health records, and AI-assisted clinical tools, with attention to data privacy and security.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex medical information in clear, accessible language to patients and caregivers.
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical practice, patient-centered care, and culturally sensitive communication in cross-border or diverse patient populations.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage case volume efficiently, and participate in collaborative workflows
