Freelance Opportunity - GCP Dataplex & Data Governance Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior GCP Dataplex / Knowledge Catalog & Data Governance Engineer for a freelance engagement.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale governed data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) .

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement Google Cloud Dataplex architecture, including Domains, Lakes, Zones and Assets

• Implement Metadata Management using Knowledge Catalog, Aspects, Aspect Types, Business Glossary, ownership and classifications

• Implement Data Quality using Dataplex DataScans, quality rules, thresholds, monitoring and reporting

• Design IAM/RBAC, Policy Tags, Column-Level Security and Row-Level Security

• Implement data classification, sensitivity controls and least-privilege access

• Establish Data Lineage, discovery, impact analysis and end-to-end traceability

• Define Data Contracts, schema standards, quality SLAs and ownership models

• Implement Data Lifecycle Management, retention, archival and deletion processes

• Establish governance standards across RAW, STANDARD and GOLD data layers

• Automate metadata, data quality, security and governance controls

• Work with Data Owners, Stewards, Producers and Consumers in a federated governance model
