Job Description

UT Health East Texas is seeking an Advanced Practice Practitioner to join our dedicated Cardiovascular Surgery team in a PRN capacity. UT Health Tyler is the only quaternary care cardiac surgical program in East Texas.

We are seeking experienced APPs with strong skills in OR first assist and ICU rounding. Vein harvesting experience required.

Position Overview:

  • Employment Type: PRN (.01 FTE), Inpatient Only
  • Practice Setting: In-hospital coverage including OR, ICU, and floor
  • Patient Load: Daily expectation of 15–20 patients
  • Schedule: To Be Determined
  • Weekend Requirements as needed
  • EMR: Epic

Team Structure:

  • Three (3) Cardiothoracic Surgeons
  • Six (6) Advanced Practice Practitioners
  • Dedicated clinical and administrative support staff
  • Collaborative, expanding team environment

UT Health East Texas:

The UT Health East Texas system is comprised of nine hospitals, more than 90 physician clinics, over 500 employed providers, 13 regional rehabilitation facilities, two freestanding emergency centers, six urgent care clinics, regional home health services covering 41 counties, an EMS fleet of more than 60 ambulances and four helicopters, and a comprehensive seven-trauma center care network, including a Level 1 trauma center. The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is the first medical school in East Texas and the seventh in The University of Texas System. Its mission is to train future healthcare professionals to embrace responsibility for the unique needs of rural and hard-to-reach communities and populations, particularly those in East Texas.
