Engineering Geologist

Join the Department of Water Resources as an Engineering Geologist and play an important role in understanding and protecting California’s water resources. This position offers a great mix of field and office work, with opportunities to conduct groundwater, geologic, geomorphic, and hydrogeologic investigations; collect and analyze data; prepare technical reports and GIS maps; and support groundwater sustainability efforts throughout the Northern Region.

Working as part of a collaborative team, you’ll contribute to meaningful water resource projects, work with local agencies and program partners, participate in field investigations, and apply your geological expertise to real-world challenges involving groundwater, rivers, and California’s changing water landscape.
